He was called to the bar in 2007 by the Honourable Society of the Lincoln’s Inn, UK. He has also done LL.M. (UK) in Professional Legal Skills. He did his Postgraduate Diploma in law from City University London and LL.B. (Hons) (UK) in 2006 from University of London. Additionally, he also done LL.B (Pak) and Master of Arts in Political Science from Punjab University, Lahore, Pakistan.
As a senior Associate with the firm, Mr. Ashfaq handles Corporate, Commercial and Civil litigation. During his career as a lead litigator, Mr. Ashfaq has represented World Bank, Emirates International, Pakistan Television Cooperation, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline, Novartis, Bashir Pipes (Pvt) limited, Philips, Krones, Shell Pakistan, New Jubliee Insurance, American Life Insurance Company, Daewoo E&C, Daewoo Pakistan Motorway Service Limited etc.
In addition, Mr. Ashfaq has also advised various international Clients like Cardno, MUFJ, Steak & Shake in the field including Foreign Exchange Regulations, labour laws, Employment Matters, Drafting & Vetting of different agreements, Imports & Exports, Intellectual Property.
Mr. Ashfaq headed various workshops on Banking Law and has enlightened several bankers with the banking law of Pakistan. He conducted a workshop for the Bankers of Faysal Bank, Pakistan on “Recovery of Finances through Legal Process”. He has also trained various HR personnels on the labour laws of Pakistan. He regularly advises and assists World Bank Doing Business assignments and has been awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation from World Bank for his contributions.
Mr. Ashfaq has also contributed by way of writing different articles in national and international publications such as “A practical approach to the civil Procedure Rules in Pakistan” for the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG) at Thammasat University, Thailand and wrote Concept of Alternate Dispute Relation and its Governing Laws in Pakistan which was published in Pakistan Law Journal.
Mr. Ashfaq also teaches Business Law, Law of Contract, Alternate Dispute Resolution etc at number of institutes like National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (Fast), Quaid-e-Azam Law College, Lahore and National College of Business Administration and Economics (NCBA&E). He is an honorary Head of Department of Law at NCBA&E. In view of his contributions in the educations filed of law, he was appointed as Secretary Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, Lahore.
